#Miniterialscreening: Senate screens Gen. Abdurrahman Dambazau


The senate has screened Gen. Abdurrahman Dambazau (Rtd), a former Chief of Army staff. During his presentation, Dambazzau said Nigeria has a defense policy which needs to be reviewed regularly. He also called for the review of allowances of soldiers, both for those serving in the North East and those who serve in foreign missions in places such as Sierra Leone. He said the Nigerian military has to stick with National security and not regime security. He said that the current N1,000 allowance of soldiers is too low and must be reviewed upwards.

Ambode orders police to fish out killers of Lekki Free Trade Zone MD



Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode has ordered the Lagos state police command to fish out the killers of the Managing Director of Lekki Worldwide Investment Company, Tajudeen Disu, who was killed in a land fracas in Okunraiye community near Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos, this morning.

Speaking to newsmen in Alausa, Ikeja this afternoon, Ambode said
"We are deeply touched with the loss of our dedicated officers at the Lekki Free Trade Zone, Alhaji Tajudeen Disu, who was until his death the arrow head of the Free Trade Zone Initiative. He was killed within the Lekki Free Trade Zone this morning. Speaking to newsmen in Alausa, Ikeja this afternoon, Ambode said


10 arrested in connection of the killing of Lagos Free Trade Zone MD



10 persons have been arrested in connection with the killing of the Managing Director of the Lekki Free Trade Zone. Speaking to newsmen in Lagos after the killing, the state police commissioner, Fatai Owoseni said that some suspects have been apprehended and investigation is on-going to determine if there were major sponsors behind the killing.
